Developing and aligning a diversity and inclusion strategy with the mission, goals and values

Building a plan aligned to the organisational strategy is a foundational component of the diversity and inclusion journey. This is key to ensure that the enterprise understands and can relate to the activities and changes implemented. It is achieved through a two-stage approach defining and then developing the plan.

  • Stage 1 – to review existing D&I strategies or facilitate development of a strategy where one is not in place. D&I approaches, proposals and plans will be presented to executives and senior leaders to ensure aligned to the organisation’s overall business strategy, its goals and its objectives.
  • Stage 2 – to design and develop a programme of initiatives, both short-term and long-term aligned to the organisational and D&I strategies, develop the business case for the initiatives, and engage with employees to establish a plan for delivery of the programme.

    The business case will include change leadership rational to improve organisational
    performance and health through embedding a culture of valuing diversity of talent. It will also provide insight how the organisation can deliver transformation, through inclusive practices, to unleash more creativity, more innovation, more growth, more engagement and better financial outcomes.
